Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations

Happy Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month from Springfield Prep!

Culturally affirming learning is a cornerstone of our teaching model at Springfield Prep. We prioritize fostering a strong sense of community, where beliefs in racial equity, diversity, and inclusion shape our daily practices. By honoring and celebrating the contributions of our diverse community, we create a sense of belonging that empowers all students to thrive. This approach not only enriches our learning environment but also prepares students to engage thoughtfully with the world around them.

In honor of Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month, Springfield Prep students, families, and staff came together for our 3rd Annual Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month Block Party on October 5. We partnered with local businesses and vendors to bring our community together for an unforgettable day. Highlights included salsa and bachata lessons, arts and crafts, and delicious offerings from Latinx food trucks! Check out the news story from Western Mass News here.

To kick off Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month, the Springfield Prep community also marched in Springfield’s annual Puerto Rican Parade. Students walked with pride for their school and cultures alongside family members and community partners.
