Celebrating a Decade of Springfield Prep

On May 30, 2025, the Springfield Prep community came together to celebrate a major milestone: our 10-year anniversary.  Held at our East Springfield campus, the event brought together staff members, current and former board members, student and alumni leaders, parent leaders, and friends of the school to honor a decade of achievement and community impact.

The celebration honored the tremendous growth we’ve experienced since opening our doors in 2015. From a small founding team to a thriving K–8 school serving 486 students, Springfield Prep has consistently remained committed to its mission: preparing students for high school, college, and life through rigorous academics and strong character development.

The event featured performances from the student dance team, delicious food and refreshments from Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill, and remarks from State Representative Carlos González, who awarded the school a citation honoring its dedication to empowering students.  One of the most meaningful moments was the presentation of our inaugural Organizational Values Awards, which recognized staff members who embody the principles that drive Springfield Prep’s culture and success. We also recognized the commitment and contribution of team members who have been with us for five and ten years.

As Board Chair Sherriff Balogun noted, “This is a proud milestone for our school, and we’re honored to celebrate with those who’ve helped shape our first ten years.” Executive Director Bill Spirer echoed that sentiment: “This celebration is not just a reflection of the past decade. It’s a recognition of the people who made it possible and a recommitment to our work ahead.”
