Senior Director of Talent and External Affairs

Wendy Soref, Ed.M., NBCT, is proud to be a founding team member at Springfield Prep.  After serving as the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and the Director of Academics, she transitioned into a full-time Director of Talent role in 2021. She has ten years of experience as an early childhood educator and teacher leader. She began her teaching career with Teach for America in Hughes, AR, and has since taught in Boston with Brooke Charter Schools and in Springfield Public Schools. She obtained her Ed.M. in Language and Literacy and her reading specialist certification at Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2010, Wendy was selected as a TeachPlus policy fellow, which gave her a more in-depth understanding of education policy and a platform to advocate for policies that would most benefit students. At Brooke, she was among the first teachers in the charter network to achieve master teacher status based on student achievement and teacher leadership. She also piloted a hybrid role as a teacher/administrator, teaching first grade part-time and leading the kindergarten and first-grade teams.
